Description:

The Solutions Engineer is a member of the Technology Alignment Team that works cross-functionally between both the net new sales team and the account management teams to align an organization’s IT services, products, software and infrastructure (collectively, “solution”) with the organization’s business goals and desired outcomes. The Solutions Engineer supports the efforts of the Solutions Architect, who acts as the primary technical resource involved in the need’s identification stage of the net new discovery processes (for prospective customers) and technology alignment planning processes (for existing customers). The Solutions Engineer is charged with documenting, in extreme detail, the state of a customer’s IT environment at the time of the initial engagement and updating documentation throughout the process of an onboarding, integration, implementation, migration, etc.

In a coordinated effort with the Solutions Architect, the Solutions Engineer is responsible for evaluating an organization’s business needs and determining how IT can support those needs by leveraging software, hardware or infrastructure – key considerations for solutions implemented are: (1) the end user impact and (2) financial implications to the customer organization, among others. Further, the Solutions Engineer bridges communication between the Solutions Architect and the customer’s business operation team to ensure everyone is aligned in developing and implementing technical solutions for business problems.

Essential Activities and Responsibilities

  • The Solutions Architect will work cross-functionally between existing Prosource Technologies’ customers and prospective customers, alike, to complete the following activities and responsibilities:
  • Customer discovery activities including network and security discoveries and assessments including the preparation of the TPTA (Total Pro Technology Assessment) and other assessment deliverables.
  • Initial recommendations for design, architecture, and engineering of technical solutions to meet client’s business technology requirements — to be further refined by Solutions Architect.
  • Continued involvement in technical solution delivery to customer from inception through completion of implementation
  • Development of Statements of Work (SOW) for client projects outlining technical requirements, project tasks and requirements for successful implementation.
  • Review and approval of quotes and proposals prior to delivery to customers to ensure accuracy, competitive positioning, and maintain an acceptable gross profit.
  • Continuing education related to interpersonal skills, communication skills, and technical skill development
  • Technology stack evolution – ensuring solution & products in current technology stack are best-in-class and constantly identifying, testing, and evaluating replacement or supplemental technology solutions based on customer’s current and future needs
Requirements:
  • 4+ year Information Technology related college degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of IT support/engineering
  • High-degree of technical competency in the following areas:
  • WAN Architecture
  • Cloud-centric Solutions
  • Advanced Cyber Security Frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO, SOC2, CMMC, etc.)
  • Advanced Networking Protocols
  • Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365
  • Hosted Voice/Telephony
  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Strategy
  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and skills
  • Highly customer focused with exceptional customer service, inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills:
  • Thoroughness and high-attention to detail in documentation efforts will be key differentiators to success
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple active opportunities.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional after-hours commitments as needed.
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for an employer without restriction.

Compensation Method

  • Base salary plus quarterly bonus based on Prosource Technologies performance:
  • Bonus based on net new sales and existing account sales growth figures
  • Bonus based on completion/achievement of milestones set by Technology Alignment Team

Travel

  • Reliable transportation and ability to visit customers at their location is required.
  • Some occasional travel to vendor shows and/or training may be required.
